Today I took a little walk down my road, because I needed to get some different shots of things instead of stuff I been photographing in my backyard, i’m not saying it’s a bad thing or anything, but just need to try something else. I am hoping once I get my new camera bag soon, I’ll be able to take some photo walks around town and on some trails, maybe even with some friends that are also interested in photography too. Today was a pretty beautiful day, it wasn’t warm, wind was a little chilly but overall it was really nice.
Today, I am just sharing a few pictures of some signs I took on the way. Tomorrow I will share a couple HDR images and I will show you how to create this HDR photos using a program called Photomatix. Enjoy.
Being a Photographer can be fun, sure. But since I started doing a lot of photography, I hardly went on photo walks, if I do, it’s only around in my back yard. Recently I started thinking about expanding and walking to different spots on my road and taking some photos. But when going out in public and taking photos on the side of the road, some people may think your a tourist and though I should let what their thoughts bother me, but I do for some reason and I shouldn’t and there is only one way to get past that fear is to do it!
But in order to get my photography pushed in further, I need to take pictures else where to get different shots, shots that I never had before. But I think today is going to be today when I make that change, because I’m going to go out and walk around a little bit and take some pictures, hopefully not to get in trouble. Hopefully the weather will play nice today or long enough for me to take some photos.
I decided to do a change up in my photography, wanted to try something different. There is really no rules in photography, rules are meant to be broken! When you are a photographer you can pretty much do what ever you want, be creative. I have known of the method to do motion effect, since I have took photography classes and learned by trial and error and you will pick up on these methods sooner or later.
The two effects shown below are the zoom and the spinning effects, zoom effect does require a DLSR or Film SLR, because you need the zoom ring and got to do it fast. What I did was stood in the most shadow area and had my camera in Aperture Priority Mode and selected an small aperture of f/22 and that brought my shutter speed down to 1/30 second and as soon as I got the photo in focused, and the same exact time I pressed the shutter released button I zoomed in and out as fast as possible and that’s the result you see below.
So you just bought your first DSLR camera and now you have more buttons, dials menus, settings and you got to learn. You understand ISO, Shutter Speed, Aperture, but what’s raw? Mostly likely when you buy a DSLR or even some high end point and shoot cameras will have optional file formats likes, Jpeg, Jpeg Fine, Raw and Raw+Jpeg. You are wondering what Raw is aren’t you?
Have you ever wanted to make your own ID badges? I did. I wanted to make a photographer badge for when I’m at events, such as car shows, which is one of the events I attend a lot. Though I don’t work for no photography company, but I work for my self. So I thought it may be kind of neat to have my own ID badge that identifies me as a photographer/blogger.
So I started looking for online ID badge makers and I found the perfect one from Big HUGE Labs called Badge Maker. You can make your own Photo Badge, Name Badge, Flickr Badge. All of these badges can either be landscape, or vertical. The best is, It’s Free!
