Do you belong to the Financial Institution United States Automobile Association? If so, you soon will be able to use your iPhone to make a check deposit.
The iPhone app called Deposit@Mobile comes out this week and allows users to photograph checks with their phone’s camera and then email the images of both sides of the check in order to complete a deposit.
In San Antonio, Texas based USAA have already released a similar app for the iPhone that allows customers to check their bank balances and find nearby ATMs using their iPhones. However, This will be the first time users will be able to make a deposit in such a way.
USAA have proving them selves to be at the front of Technology when it comes to banking. Back in 2007, the company allowed customers to scan checks via home scanners and then email the images of the checks to make a deposit.
Of course, with all digital banking, fraud is a concern. However, only USAA customers who will be eligible to use the server are those who qualify for credit accounts or have insurance through the company.
Isn’t Technology just wonderful?
