bhllogo Have you ever wanted to make your own ID badges?  I did.  I wanted to make a photographer badge for when I’m at events, such as car shows, which is one of the events I attend a lot.  Though I don’t work for no photography company, but I work for my self.  So I thought it may be kind of neat to have my own ID badge that identifies me as a photographer/blogger.

So I started looking for online ID badge makers and I found the perfect one from Big HUGE Labs called Badge Maker. You can make your own Photo Badge, Name Badge, Flickr Badge.  All of these badges can either be landscape, or vertical. The best is, It’s Free!

firefox So, you have Firefox 3.6 installed? (which is the latest version of Firefox at the time of writing this post) Firefox has a lot of under the hood improvements, it’s much more faster than what Firefox 3.5 was. It’s even more stable as well, If you haven’t already go and update Firefox to the latest version please!

If your like me, I like style.  I have no complaints of the original Firefox 3.6 theme, it’s a really wonderful theme.  You been looking at ton of themes and just couldn’t find the right one that you really like, right? I been there before, trust me, I have. You know what?  I gave up looking for themes, instead this morning I watched a CNet How To video and they were talking about how to make Firefox 3.6 to look like Firefox 4.0, from the future.  I decided to share the video and make a step by step instruction, with links to these downloads and what to configure.  This will make your Firefox look really amazing!

ccleaner Have you heard of CCleaner? CCleaner is a free application for Windows that optimizes your system.  It removes unused files from your system – allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. It also has a really good registry cleaner that works really good.  I have fixed many customer computers just by using CCleaner, you wouldn’t believe how much crap that builds up after time that just causes your computer to be slower and generate more errors.  That’s why it’s called CCleaner, AKA “Crap Cleaner”  It’s cleans the crap out of your computer.  For more information about CCleaner, other applications they make and other stuff, check out their website at ccleaner.com.

I’m a really big fan of Pidgin IM client because for me it’s open source and it works really well.  But the downfall of this is that the interface isn’t that great in my opinion but I have found a way to give it a much better look and I will show you how to do this.

Before we begin, make sure you have Pidgin installed and other plugins, I recommend Facebook and Musictracker plugins.

Also one more thing before we start customizing is to make sure you back up this folder “C:\Program Files\Pidgin\pixmaps\pidgin

After you have done that, exit out of pidgin and lets get to customizing!

pidgin1

Browse to this location C:\Program Files\Pidgin\pixmaps\pidgin and the contents should be like the one in the screenshot (left).

Now download these files, I edited them my self so what you will have to do is just drag and drop and replace all the files.  Download

You can either extract it to: C:\Program Files\Pidgin\pixmaps\pidgin or just extract the compressed file and drag and drop, either way will work.

After that is complete, just run pidgin and everything should work just fine, you should have new icons and such.

If all done correctly, it should look something like this, depending on your configuration

If you have any problems implementing this new theme into pidgin, feel welcome to comment below and I will try to help you the best that I can.
