Well this will be interesting… But we are having a debate if File sharing should be legal or illegal, the problem was that I wasent there cause I was sick and I guess they chose for me :(  I’m on the “Illegal”… Which I wanted to be on the Legal side cause I wanna express my feelings on what I think. There is not right or wrong side, its just some people thinks its wrong and some people don’t, frankly if theres millions of people that do that out there then its just soo hard to control, you know what I mean?  Who knows what will happen today.  But when I get back from school I will update this information.

Windows XP Logo

So everyone has been saying that Microsoft is planned to dismiss Windows XP on June 30th, 2008 but that is not the case for Windows XP Home (only this edition) because Microsoft thought that they can’t run Windows Vista on the one-laptop-per-child but could run windows XP Home and also for ULCPCs “Ultra low-cost PCs” as well as mobile PCs which as Microsoft describes it as not having enough “Horsepower” to run Windows Vista.

Microsoft has extended the deadline for Windows XP Home Edition to June 30th, 2010 or one year after the next version of windows which is “Windows 7″ (which will be released sometime in 2010). Microsoft also sees ULCPS appealing to first time PC buyers or users that want to have more computers in their network.

So Microsoft is looking to ship Windows XP Home pre-installed on devices that have limited resources.

But if your wondering when Service Pack 3 will be out and herd rumors that is coming out sometime in mid- to late-April, is not true. Microsoft said SP3 is not officially due until the end of June

  • LoJack is a GPS locating device for law enforcement agencies to find stolen cars.
  • Fujifilm Introduced on Wednesday a service for tracking tape storage
  • They put a transponder that fits in a standard size tape and can be tracked just like a car.
  • The Tape Tracker transmits a silent signal that many law enforcements can track but with Fujifind, you can track it via web interface.
  • This is ideal for IT Administrators to find the device using maps and satellite images provided by SCI (SC-Integrity)
  • Enterprises can set this Tape Tracker to “geofencing” and get notified when the device leaves or enters an area or can also be notified when there it disappears from the shipping route.
  • This service will cost you $150 a month for one device
  • You can also get a LoJack service for laptops at $49.99 for one year or three years for $99.99 and this service is offered by Absolute software.

My Response:

I think this is a really good idea cause if you think about it a lot of business use tape backups because they are really reliable and safe as well as the storage capacity. This will be good for Network Administrators that have a lot of data to back up each day or each week and needs them to be in safe area wants to make sure they get there and not get disappeared or stolen. The fact that you can get updates on its location or if it leaves the area as well as access the web interface and being interactive with the device it’s really cool. Technology is advancing really fast, pretty soon we will not be able to catch up :D

I know, Kind-of late cause I kind-of forgot about it.

    • A new DVD format that is incompatible with Blu-ray, is HD VMD
    • The quality of the data, movie and disc is just as good as Blu-ray but half the cost.
    • An HD VMD will cost less because it’s using the red-laser technology that is used in today’s standard DVD players.
    • A lot of companies and consumers may think it’s still expensive but it is 200 bucks cheaper than a Blu-ray player which cost around 300-400 bucks. And it’s also just about the same quality.
    • There are only 17 movie titles currently made on this format.
    • No talks have been made with the big-box retailers to sell this product
    • Neither Walt Disney, Universal Studios nor Warner Brothers had any interest in releasing movies on HD VMD.
    • However, this format is really affordable for Religious organizations and independent filmmakers to put their content on HD.
