Flickr Gets a Face Lift

August 4, 2010 |  by Nick  |  No Comments  |

Flickr had been working on creating a new design photo page and after a few weeks of public review, Flickr has rolled out the newly designed photo page to the rest of the world.

One of the things Flickr did was increased the default view size by 28% So you get to show of your photo even more.  Remember when you wanted to view the photo bigger, you had go to the page that had the bigger sizes?  Well now you don’t have to, you can just click on the photo and it zooms out bigger using the lightbox feature and you get to see the photo on black which really makes your photos stand out.

The Next thing Flickr did was improve their navigation, you can finally move forward or back with the new newer and older buttons above each photo.  You can now click the drop down menu on the groups the photo belongs to and you can also check out the latest photos from there too.  Another thing is when you check out the latest photos from your contacts you don’t have to go back to the home page, you can just click next.  This makes it much more easier. Change Background on Windows 7 Starter

August 2, 2010 |  by Nick  |  No Comments  |

Did you just buy a netbook with Windows 7 and said sweet, but you didn’t realize that you can’t change the background?  Well Windows 7 Starter is very limited and it’s great for low end computers, but why can’t they just at least allow you to change the background? I do not know why.  But I know a way around it and you can change your background to what you want.

First go download Oceanis Change Background W7 and install.  Then you want to restart your computer as it said to do.

Once you log back on, you will see this as your wallpaper.  Click on the shortcut icon on the desktop to start the program.

Fender Strat Pick Guard Replacement

July 30, 2010 |  by Nick  |  No Comments  |

So I wanted for a while and finally decided that i’m going to replace the white pick guard on my Fender Stratocaster with a black one. I think it would at a very cool look that will fit my personality, though I never took an electric guitar apart before. But it was a new learning process for me and i’m glad I did it and now my guitar looks pretty sweet looking.  Looks almost like Stevie Ray Vaughn’s guitar besides he has a rosewood fret board and gold hardware, but still it looks sweet.

Domain Donation

July 24, 2010 |  by Nick  |  No Comments  |

I been doing photography for a while now and I was thinking that it’s time for the next step.  I began thinking to create a website for my photography to help promote my talent and possibly do some professional work on the side.  I went to go purchase a domain and I didn’t know how much money I had, my bank account is nearly empty, I might have a few dollars and I have to keep that in there so they don’t close my bank account because of lack of money.

Sure I would try to get a job and I been but there is just no jobs around where I live, it’s even worse that I don’t have a car to get around, so how am I suppose to get to a job, I know some people might say take the bus, what bus?  There isn’t no buses where I live, I just live in a small town with about 4,000 other people. It’s really tough and I really wanted to get my photography a push that it needs so i’m asking for 9 people to donate 1 dollar or more until I reach 9 dollars.  I’m not asking for much at all and once I get enough money to be able to afford a domain, I can repay to you back after once I get money at some point or donate 10 dollars to some sort of charity you think I should I should donate to, to say thanks for donating money to me so I can be able to have a site dedicated to my photography.

If you are going to donate and if you have a twitter account please let me know your twitter account so I could properly thank you and give a shout.

Updated Setup

July 23, 2010 |  by Nick  |  No Comments  |

So after living with a single monitor I decided to go back to my three monitor setup, because when I degraded down to only one monitor I lost of a time, when I had a three monitor setup I could get much more done a hell of a lot faster then I did with the single monitor.  When your a geek of many things it’s almost a necessity to have multi-monitors.  It really can improve your work flow and when your a photographer, a blogger even do some graphic/web designing it really does help to have multiple screens, just saying.

However, This current set up you see is only temporary until I get a second 22inch monitor and then i’m going to upgrade my speakers as well.  Not sure when this will happen, but hopefully soon.

Updated Setup (again)
