January 23, 2010 |  by Nick  |

firefox So, you have Firefox 3.6 installed? (which is the latest version of Firefox at the time of writing this post) Firefox has a lot of under the hood improvements, it’s much more faster than what Firefox 3.5 was. It’s even more stable as well, If you haven’t already go and update Firefox to the latest version please!

If your like me, I like style.  I have no complaints of the original Firefox 3.6 theme, it’s a really wonderful theme.  You been looking at ton of themes and just couldn’t find the right one that you really like, right? I been there before, trust me, I have. You know what?  I gave up looking for themes, instead this morning I watched a CNet How To video and they were talking about how to make Firefox 3.6 to look like Firefox 4.0, from the future.  I decided to share the video and make a step by step instruction, with links to these downloads and what to configure.  This will make your Firefox look really amazing!

Make sure you have to latest version of Firefox, if not go download it!

So, your going to need need the following apps for these steps.

Themes

Alright, so now you know what you need to install, lets get on with the steps to make your Firefox look like Firefox 4.0

addons

So make sure you have the highlighted add-ons installed.

Alright after you have all of the addons and the theme installed and activated, go to Tools > Add-ons in Firefox.  Once the Add-ons window opens, click on extensions, if it’s not already selected. Click on StrataBuddy and Click Options, The StrataBuddy Options window will open, click on the Strata button and select style 4.0 (highlighted) and for background style select Aero Glass (highlighted) Now if you are using Windows XP, select the theme you are using for Windows XP.  If your Windows Vista/7 machine doesn’t have Aero Class turned on due to video card or preference, select Aero Basic.

Select Tabs button and for Tab Style, Select Taps on Top, or if you want you can leave it the default, but it looks much cooler with the tabs on top.

Finally, select Misc button and check Progress Lines, if not already selected.  Also Select Segoe UI Semibold font and Animated RSS button.  The animated RSS icon on the address bar is a need touch and I really like it.   After that, click ok.

firefox40 Your Firefox should now look like the above image.  If not, then you didn’t do something correctly or I missed told you (my apologies in advance)  The next step to do is enjoy your new theme!  It looks so much better now.
